Helm was born from a decade-long ritual - four friends meeting monthly. Always over food, often over wine, we mapped out our life goals, shared our progress, and held each other accountable. Each month, we exchanged detailed reports, documenting years of ambitions, reflections and milestones.
Together, we’ve realized many of our goals over the 10 years.
We’ve built careers, moved countries, launched businesses, started families, and turned big ambitions into reality. We’ve navigated our way through the many challenges life has thrown at us, and unexpected curve-balls along the way.
Through coaching, facilitation and lived experience, we’ve seen firsthand that most ambitious people struggle with three things:
A clear vision for their future
A structured system to break down goals into actionable steps
A supportive community to provide accountability and momentum
There’s plenty of noise about “finding your purpose”, but little practical support for envisaging, creating and building a long-term life vision and then actually executing on it.
That’s where Helm comes in.

One goal you’re currently chasing? Learning to surf.
Most ambitious thing you’ve ever done? Physically, completing the Great Ocean Road ultra-marathon twice, sub-4 hours. Risk-wise, up-ending a full life in Sydney to move to San Francisco for a new job.
One thing on your bucket list? Own a VW van for family surf trips. That’s where the learning to surf goal comes in.
A small habit that’s had a big impact on your life? Going for a walk but not listening to podcasts or leaving voice memos for friends like I usually do. It’s giving me the time and brain space to just zone out and think.
